FNP, Nurse Practitioner
Ashley Barham grew up in Ohio and moved to south Florida after graduating high school. In 2007, she graduated from Palm Beach State College with an Associates in Applied Science in Nursing (ASN).
She began her nursing career providing short-term acute and trauma-focused care working in the emergency department. In 2008, Ashley and her husband moved to North Carolina to continue her education. While working in various units at
the local hospital, she returned to school and earned her Master of Science in Nursing at East Carolina University in 2015.
In her years of clinical practice as a Nurse Practitioner, Ashley saw how her patient’s mental health impacted their medical conditions, families, and communities. Over the last few years, the need for behavioral health resources has outpaced availability. This was the catalyst for her to change specialties and focus on providing psychiatric care. Ashley has a special interest in providing care to military veterans, law enforcement, and first responders.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two Belgian Malinois dogs, Stella and Gunner.
