Lisa Beresnyak received her MS in Addiction Studies from Capella University. LCAS-A, (currently applying for her LCMHC-A), and did her Internship at UNC (Department of Gynecology), working with the UNC Horizons program where she worked as an Outpatient Therapist, facilitated group therapy, and worked with the SAIOP Program with women that were pregnant and/or with children and managing substance abuse and addiction.
Lisa is also a Registered Yoga Instructor -500 hours, Certified MIndfulness Based Stress Instructor, and Integrative Health Coach. Lisa uses mindfulness and wellness approaches, incorporating techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to help clients learn to rely on their inner resources, become connected to their bodies, and begin living self-aware lives. She finds this integrative approach and treatment model effective for the treatment of addiction, trauma, and mental illness.
Lisa is originally from North Carolina, but spent time in New York City after graduating from UNCGreensboro, getting her Bachelors in Human Services. Lisa lives in Raleigh and loves spending time with her kids, taking Yoga classes, live music, and getting to the ocean as much as possible.
