Kate O’Connell, LCMHC, LCAS, earned her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Central University. She has experience as a substance abuse and crisis stabilization counselor in both residential and outpatient settings.
Kate practices a person-centered and motivational approach to therapy. She is certified by NC-CTP in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. She counsels adults, adolescents, and children with a wide array of mental health issues including PTSD, substance use disorders, depression, and anxiety.
She is originally from Italy and grew up in New York and North Carolina. She speaks both Italian and Spanish. Kate incorporates mindfulness and healthy coping skills in her counseling approach, as well as her personal life, where she practices meditation and yoga. She also enjoys traveling and listening to live music.
